I was living with my family in a rundown Housing Commission house at the time; the last in a long line of public housing properties we'd lived in up and down the east coast of Australia since I was 2.

​

A lot was riding on this opportunity. ​​

MY STORY BEGINS IN 2001, WHEN I REPLACED SOPHIE MONK AS MARILYN MONROE AT MOVIE WORLD ON THE GOLD COAST, AUSTRALIA...

But, instead of turning my time in the pink dress and blonde wig into a successful career in music, broadcast radio, and TV—I turned down a contract with Universal Music to pursue the flashy world of suburban legal practice instead.​​​​​​​​​​​​ That's right. I was an idiot.​ Luckily I would eventually realise my mistake, and in 2016 I happily left practice and went into presenting, podcasting & creating Australia's first legal content consultancy dedicated to making the law something worth talking about.​​ It may have been 23 years after I turned down a career as a recording artist, but in 2024, I ended up making my first entry on the charts. It's somehow fitting that it was a legal podcast that finally got me there!
